Tulalip Broadband is a partnership between Tulalip Broadband and Tulalip Data Services and built on the concept that community and customer care can be combined with competitive services.
The idea began in 1984: Bring local cable service to residents on the reservation. After three years of preparations, The Tulalip Cable Company opened in 1986 and incorporated in 1987. In 1988, there were 20 customers. By 1990 that number grew from 400 at the first of the year to 900 with areas expanding to Maplewood Road, Shaker Church Road and Aspen Flats. Digital service was later added in 2005 and the expansion meant that more office space was needed to meet the needs of customers.
Tulalip Data Services (TDS) was created in 2000 to implement a technology strategy for the Tulalip Tribes. With a handful of employees and interns, TDS put a networking infrastructure in place that serves the government and business in Tulalip. In 2005, TDS joined Quil Ceda Village as an enterprise and added data, voice and multimedia solutions for businesses for the Tribes' new Seattle Premium Outlet Mall.
TDS enterprise staff and Cablevision moved into the Quil Ceda Village Retail suite in 2005 to better serve their customers and improve the technology infrastructure for the community. This move was the beginning of what would become a leading-edge, high-bandwidth networking and communications company for the local government, businesses and residents of the Tulalip community.
Because of today's advanced digital technology, the division between data, telephony and cable television infrastructure and systems equipment no longer exists. Thanks to these advances, in 2006 our quality services evolved into Tulalip Broadband.
Tulalip Broadband is proud to be an accredited member of the Better Business Bureau.
